MISSION STATEMENT
""At Harmony Barn, our mission is to facilitate personal growth and emotional resilience through non-contact Equine-Assisted Learning. We bridge the wisdom of the herd with practical wellness tools, helping clients transition from stress to a state of grounded, intentional presence."

As Harmony Barn's Director of Equine-Assisted Learning & Wellness, Barbara Isherwood combines extensive expertise in professional education, guidance, and community development to lead unique equine-assisted wellness programs.
Holding a Certificate in Education and a Level 4 qualification in Advice and Guidance, Barbara’s work is grounded in structured learning and a deep commitment to supporting personal growth and life transitions.
A dedicated advocate for inclusive practice, Barbara focuses on creating accessible, regulated environments for underserved and historically excluded communities. By integrating an informed understanding of interspecies neurobiology with her background in teaching, she helps individuals navigate challenges through the biological mirrors provided by the herd.

The Harmony Herd
Our beautiful horses are the heart and soul of our program. With their sensitive nature and desire for connection, our family of Arabian horses is deeply attuned to human emotions. Their expressive nature and clear communication make them exceptional guides and teachers in our journey toward emotional healing and self-awareness.

Nellie
Before coming to Harmony Barn Nellie had her foals taken away at a young age, as a result she was wary, shut down and reserved. At Harmony Barn Nellie lives happily with her son and daughter. Helping her to feel safe and connected to us has been a valuable lesson in listening, slowing down and making our body language quiet.

Joy
Joy is Nellie's daughter, she was born at Harmony Barn and she has only ever known our gentle way with horses. Joy is sensitive and expressive, she learns quickly and she is not shy of sharing her opinions. She teaches us to be collaborative and negotiate, reminding us that force is never a good choice.

Phizzy
Born at Harmony Barn in 2020 our youngest herd member Phizzy is growing in both stature and confidence. He is a sweet, trusting and calm boy, full of curiosity and mishief (pic). Phizzy affirms the importance of positive experiences in early years.
